Uttarakhand should get grant for centrally sponsored 38 programs

Chief Secretary Alok Kumar Jain has directed the officers concerned to add innovative projects during the presentation of 12th Five Year Program and Annual Planning 2012-13. He also instructed them to project strongly and relevantly the development programs, advantages of which the state was not able to avail of owing to difficult geographical condition.
Chief Secretary Jain was reviewing the proposals of 12th Five Year Program and Annual Planning 2012-13 at Secretariat on Thursday. He said that being Special Category State, Uttarakhand should get grant for centrally sponsored 38 programs in the ratio of 90:10 and directed the officers to project this fact in a logical way. He said that Central Planning Commission also be urged to provide compensation against expenditure borne by the State for Eco Services. Mr. Jain stressed on putting forward the programs prepared to generate livelihood through forestry, efforts being put for extension of education, necessity of hydro-power projects, steps being taken in the direction of drinking water and proposals prepared with the participation of private sectors.
