Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna on Friday said that this time State would try to seek hundred percent financial help from the Central Government in all its sponsored infrastructure development programs for border areas.
Chief Minister Bahuguna, while reviewing the preparation of State Annual Planning at secretariat for the proposed Planning Commission meeting scheduled to be held on 16th July directed the officers concerned to advocate strongly the state's side on logical basis. He asked them to apprise the Commission about the difficulties in the protection of forest and wild life in the state due to dearth of fund. He also instructed them to prepare action plan for strengthening of Forest Department.
Mr. Bahuguna said that as Uttarakhand came under Special Category, it would also stress the Commission for recommendation of 90:10 ratio for the funds allocated by the Centre, He said that the Commission would be urged to increase the Planning of the State. Mr. Bahuguna pointed out that in the past years the expenditures had been very less as against the allocated amount. He directed the officers to ensure total expenditure of the amount during this financial year. He also instructed them to strongly advocate necessity of hydro-power projects in the state.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Alok Kumar Jain, Principal Secretary Planning S Ramaswami, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister DK Kotia, Principal Secretary Industrial Development Rakesh Sharma, Secretary Finance Radha Raturi and other senior officers.
