Alternative Energy and Tourism Minister Amrita Rawat  has advocated installing alternative energy equipments over canals towing the line  of Gujarat state. She has directed the  departmental officers to prepare action plan for the same. She said that the  equipments be installed even in barren lands and those places where there is no  forest.
The Alternative Energy Minister, during her meeting  with the departmental officers and Head of Mozer Bear Clean Energy Limited, New Delhi on Thursday  also directed the officers to provide subsidy and waivers so that maximum  people use the equipments. She also instructed them to publicize the benefits of  the project. She directed them to prepare Solar Plan and present the draft of  Solar Policy to her. The Minister also instructed the officers to conduct  survey and prepare Wind-power project. The meeting was attended by Secretary  Energy SS Sandhu, Additional Secretary VVRC Purushottam, Manoj Gupta from Mozer  Bear Clean Energy Limited and other departmental officers.
Earlier, Tourism Minister Amrita Rawat, in a review  meeting of Tourism Department, expressed her resentment against non-compliance  of her even a simple instruction for changing bed sheets in GMVN Guest Houses.  She stressed on running hotels and Rope-ways at Mansa Devi and Chandi Devi in  PPP mode. She pointed out that the Rope-way at Auli run by the government was  in defunct state since a long time. She directed the officers to repair it and  submit report to her.  She also laid  emphasis on using latest technology like in Japan  and Switzerland  and even opting for contract system.
The Tourism Minister directed the officers to ensure  participation of Tourism Department in the 125th Raising Day of  Garhwal Rifles. She asked the officers to identify the places with mythological  and historical importance like Mahabharata and Ramayana and publicize them  along with the culture and heritage of the state. The meeting was attended by  Secretary SS Sandhu, Additional Secretary Nitesh Kumar Jha, Finance Controller  SS Singh, Joint Directors AK Dwivedi and AK Singh.
