The National Institute of Open Schooling organized a certificate distribution ceremony for Hunar Passouts of Delhi region on 1st July 2012 at Zakir Hussain College Auditorium, Delhi. The Certificates were distributed by Sh. Kapil Sibal, Union Minister for Human Resource Development.
As a part of its endeavour to promote school education amongst disadvantaged communities, the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) launched the ‘HUNAR’ project for Skill Development and Training of Girls on 26th February 2011. About 1613 girls took admission and 218 learners passed through 14 centres in the Old city area of Delhi in different trades such as Cutting Tailoring, Basic Computing, Preservation of Vegetables & Fruits, Gram Sakhi, Embroidery etc.
Congratulating the successful learners, Shri Kapil Sibal hoped that the HUNAR Project would be extended to more and more Muslim Girls, enabling them to nurture the skill that each one is naturally endowed with.
Shri Haroon Yusuf, Minister for Electricity, Food & Civil Supplies, Govt. of Delhi and Sh. Prahlad Singh Sahni, councillor, Chandi Chowk were also present on the occasion.
